Newly Released High Resolution Satellite and Aerial Orthomosaics

Each month, eMap has access to newly released digital orthomosaics of aerial imagery inside the United States and the European Union; and to orthomosaics of QuickBird satellite imagery in other international areas. This section introduces all of the aerial and QuickBird imagery datasets released in the last month.

The digital aerial imagery orthomosaics of key US and EU urban markets:

  • Have 30-cm resolution (or better in limited areas)
  • Are seamless and orthorectified to a 1:12,000 scale or better
  • Contain no cloud cover
  • Include large-area coverage of the urban center and surrounding suburbs

In the past month, no new markets have been released as DigitalGlobe will be working with Microsoft to initiate the Clear30 aerial imagery collection program. Starting in mid-2010, eMap will have access to the first collections of this impressive dataset which will provide geospatial users with the first complete 1-foot aerial imagery dataset over the continental US and Western Europe. Please check back here each month for any news eMap can offer on the Clear30 aerial imagery program.
