Geospatial Freebie(s) of the Month – Global Mapper 11.0

For the February 2010 Geospatial Freebie of the Month, we are pleased to introduce the most robust and easy-to-use free imagery viewer we have run across, Global Mapper 11.0. One of the key features of Global Mapper is its ability to open a wide variety of raster, vector and elevation model formats – including GeoTIFFs, shapefiles and BIL elevation files. This freeware application also features tools for measuring distances, labeling items of interest, image rectification and feature digitization.
