2009-2010 Marcellus Aerial Imagery

‘Sub-meter aerial imagery across seventeen counties in Pennsylvania and West Virginia’

Change has come to Pennsylvania. The nation’s first oil and gas play is once again experiencing high levels of interest by prospectors. Recent statistics from the Department of Environmental Protection show that the number of gas wells drilled across the state has more than tripled over the past three years and there are little signs of slowing down.

Such frequent change on the ground means that operating companies need to rely on the most up-to-date geospatial data and imagery available. In response to this need, eMap International is pleased to announce the availability of a brand new aerial dataset for large portions of the Marcellus Shale. Collected at sub-meter resolution during the Fall of 2009 and the Spring of 2010 this dataset easily meets the demanding needs of operators for current, accurate, and high resolution aerial imagery.

Made available through a partnership with Spatial Energy, the imagery can be delivered in traditional GeoTIFF format or as a Web Map Service on a per county or regional basis. Additional layers in the WMS include NAIP and DOQQ imagery along with USGS topo’s and a vector basemap.

The high relative accuracy between the 2009-2010 Marcellus Aerial Imagery dataset and parcel spatial boundaries is shown below.

Seventeen counties in total were covered by the 2009-2010 aerial flight. If you think you would benefit from our 2009-2010 Marcellus Aerial Imagery, please contact eMap today at (303) 877-2721 or adiamond@emap-int.com for more information and/or a price quote.
